WOOLLEY

Lynne is trying to contact a male child fathered by her grandfather Donald George Woolley while he was serving with the Central Ontario Regiment in the UK during WW2.  Donald enlisted July 4 1940 and left Halifax Dec 15 1940 and arrived in the UK Christmas day 1940. He stayed in the UK training and in the defence of the UK.  He left the UK on the D-Day landings on July 4 1944 arriving in France July 6 1944.  He was granted 9 days leave to the UK Jan 23, 1945. He returned to the UK when the war ended  Oct 11, 1945. He landed back in Toronto Jan 28 1946.                                                                              Donald George Woolley

Lynne has been told by her family that, the child he fathered apparently tried to make contact with a relative in Canada in 1986 but there was a recent death in the family and no one thought to get any details when he called on the telephone. It was common knowledge to some family members that this child existed and that my grandfather had provided support financially or otherwise.
