QUELCH

Patricia Brydges is looking for her father BILL QUELCH a Canadian soldier. She has little information about her father other than the fact that he was a Canadian soldier who her mother had met during World War 2. She was born in October 1942 in Churt, Surrey. Patricia's mother Hilda Lucy Mary Remnant was born in July 1908 and she married Norman Gibby. Hilda and Norman had two sons. Patricia found out at a later date that Norman Gibby, who had died before she was born and who she had always thought was her father, had actually died 3 months before her youngest brother was born.  When her mother died in 1958 at the early age of 50, Patricia was 16 and she was told just after her mothers funeral by a aunt that Norman Gibby was not actually her father and that her mother had met a Canadian soldier during World War 2, after her husband had died and had a baby by him. This soldier's name was Bill Quelch.                                                                                                            Patricia only has one photo showing her father Bill Quelch holding her as a 9 months baby. (photo above).
